ALL ABOUT ICE MACHINES

How much ice do you need and where?

Ice machines come in a range of sizes and shapes to fit your unique facility and meet the demands of your business. ICETRO, Hoshizaki, and Manitowoc offer:

  • storage bins
  • undercounter units
  • countertop units
  • modular units
  • self-contained units
  • dispenser units.

The size of your ice machine unit is determined by the number of customers you serve. Small businesses who serve 100-250 customers per day may only require units that produce 80-90 lbs of ice daily. Larger facilities that service 1000+ customers each day requires units that produce 2600+ lbs daily.

What kind of ice do you need?

Not all ice is created equal, and your business likely requires a specific type. Types available:

  • Crescent
  • Nugget
  • Cube
  • Half Cube
  • Flaked
  • Sphere
  • Square
  • Top-hat

Crescent, nugget, cube or half-cube ice is best for soft drinks, blended frozen drinks, and dispensed ice.

Flaked ice works well for buffets and displaying seafood or meat. Sphere, square, and top-hat ice is ideal for premium drinks, craft cocktails, and high-end liquors.

What type of machine is your facility set up to operate?

All ice machines require a condenser that expels excess heat from your unit. Your facility may work better with some types of condensers than others.

Air-cooled condensers contain fans that cool your equipment. These condensers are easiest to install, but may require more space than other units as well as a relatively cool interior base temperature.

Water-cooled condensers cool your unit by distributing cool water through a series of coils. These condensers are generally the most efficient and able to produce the most ice on demand, but their water-circulating system may be too involved for some facilities.

Remote condensers involve a unit outside of your facility, such as outdoors or on the building's roof, that distributes cooling refrigerant to your machine. These units are often more difficult to install, but move all noise and heat from your machine outside of your building.

ALL ABOUT COOLING & REFRIGERATION

What will be stored in your refrigerator and where?

Our commercial refrigeration equipment includes a range of expansive or space-saving units that keep your customers safe by ensuring that food and beverages are stored at proper temperatures. At Dall-ICE, we install and maintain:

  • Reach-In Refrigerators
  • Undercounter Refrigerators
  • Countertop Refrigerators
  • Worktop Refrigerators
  • Prep Table Refrigerators

Who is using your cooler and where?

Many coolers are designed to be used by customers who like to "grab and go." Other coolers are kept behind bars or counters to keep beverages and condiments cool but ready-at-hand. At Dall-ICE, we install and maintain:

  • Open-Air Coolers
  • Back Bar Coolers
  • Bottle and Milk Coolers
  • Drop-In Coolers
  • Commercial Wine Coolers

Would your customers prefer chilled beverages?

Chillers are important to businesses that provide chilled drinks, beer, or cocktails to customers. For example, many craft cocktails require a glass that has been frosted in a chiller before serving. Other larger facilities use chillers to bring food temperatures down rapidly so that they can be safely stored in a refrigerator or cooler. At Dall-ICE, we install and maintain:

  • Glass Chillers
  • Blast Chillers
  • Draft Beer Systems

What products are you displaying and where?

If your business produces ready-made products or allows customers to choose from a selection of chilled items, such as cheeses or cured meats, then refrigerated display cases are central to business. At Dall-ICE, we install and maintain:

  • Open-Air Cooler Display Cases
  • Bakery Display Cases
  • Deli Display Cases
  • Sushi Display Cases
